I am a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, massage therapist, and yoga instructor who uses a blend of modalities in each treatment. I have been working and studying the various human body systems for the last ten years with an emphasis on understanding how to bridge the mental, emotional, and physical bodies.  My passion lies in teaching my patients to understand their holistic self and make informed decisions about their healthcare.

I have studied and practiced massage therapy for the last ten years, particularly myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and (informally) Anatomy Trains. I completed my 200-hour Hatha yoga training with the Himalayan Institute in 2014, after which I attended a four-year graduate program in Asheville, NC to achieve my Master’s of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I have since spent many hours in continuing education classes to deepen my knowledge in specialty areas, particularly women's health.  I am a member of Randine Lewis' Clinical Excellence in Fertility Professionals group (https://www.thefertilesoul.com).

I studied Chinese medicine at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC. where I graduated with both my Masters and Doctoral degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

I found Chinese medicine during my undergraduate studies in Richmond, VA. Struggling with both anxiety and depression, I found it very hard to continue to stay on track in school. After witnessing my mother's health be completely transformed via acupuncture and herbal medicine, I decided to try acupuncture myself. Over the course of a year, not only did I have a new zest for life, but I finished my education and restructured the course of my career to become an acupuncturist to help others working through their own pain and disharmonies.

My goal is to provide our community with family medicine as a primary care provider. I am particularly passionate about working with mental health, women’s health, and the wide range of internal medicine conditions that can create disease, or dis-ease in the body. These include, but are not limited to anxiety, depression, gynecology, fertility, obstetrics, pediatrics, gastro-intestinal/digestive concerns, asthma, seasonal allergies, auto-immune conditions, and general pain management. I utilize acupuncture, herbal medicine, and adjunct techniques (such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and tui-na) in my practice to ensure my patients are receiving personalized care for their various conditions.

I look at the body using a PEMS (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) perspective. I have found that the body will become emotionally fatigued after years of physical pain, and vice versa with physical pain being created by years of emotional or mental struggling. In time, this cycle will have an impact on the spirit. My goal as a health care practitioner is to view your concern from each of these levels to assure that I am working on both the branch and root cause of any pain or disease pattern.
